AEO Status
What does AEO status mean?
AEO certification is an official recognition granted to companies that meet the European Union’s customs, security, and safety requirements, thereby facilitating smoother international trade.
The Authorized Economic Operator (AEO) certificate is part of a European Union program aimed at enhancing supply chain security and streamlining trade processes. The program is based on the World Customs Organization’s (WCO) SAFE Framework of Standards and is recognized in all European Union member states.
Businesses that obtain AEO status are considered reliable operators. The designation certifies that they comply with customs regulations, maintain an appropriate record-keeping system, are financially stable, and—depending on the type of authorization—also meet security and safety requirements.

- Recognition as a reliable partner in international supply chains, which strengthens the company's business reputation
- Financial benefits, such as eligibility to obtain a self-assessment permit for import VAT in the EU
- More effective risk management for customs authorities, enabling them to focus more attention on higher-risk businesses
